I'm James, the producer & director of At Fest. I started planning this documentary in 2010, after shooting, editing, and sharing a 20-minute short film shot at the 49th Philadelphia Folk Festival. With the positive reaction, Jen (my wife) and I decided do a feature-length documentary. I completed a rough cut of the film in 2012, with post-production going on long after that.
In this clip, you'll see some reactions of some of the 300 people who saw a rough cut of At Fest at a private screening at The Trocadero, a legendary music hall in Philadelphia. What did they think? Watch and see!

Music video for "I'm Gone" by HogMaw
One of the themes that emerges in the film is the deep sense of love felt by those who camp together, whether with family or friends. The music, generally Folk music, brings people together while infusing and surrounding everyone with a common sense of purpose. Like the music itself, the sense of community ends up spanning generations, touching people ranging in age from a few weeks to a few weeks shy of 70.
In this clip, you'll see some of the stories of the family of Fest. Enjoy. To watch At Fest now, click here.
